Red Cows And The Apocalypse: Motivations Behind The War In Gaza

Red Cows And The Apocalypse: Motivations Behind The War In Gaza

I’m no Middle East expert. The tensions there have been going on for so long, with so many permutations of geo-political, financial and religious layers that it would confound the experts.

Struggles between Shia and Sunnis. Arab nations in conflict. West vs East dynamics. Religious friction between Christianity, Islam and Judaism. Land grabs. Oil. And of course, in the middle of it all is Israel.

The war in Gaza.

I’m not even going to pretend to understand the machinations and nuances of this volatile region.

Nonetheless, there is an item that was recently brought to my attention which I feel is relevant to the discussion. Something I wanted to explore in greater depth. A motive as it were, for the current war in Gaza.

Shortly after the October 7 Hamas-led attack on Israel, Hamas spokesman Abu Ubaida opened up a speech explaining the group’s motives for the aggression by accusing the Jews of “bringing red cows” to the Holy Land.

This is a perplexing statement and it is no wonder that the media headlines overlooked it. Rather, they listed reasons including Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories, expansion of Israeli settlements, the plight of Palestinians and threats to the status of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The latter concern, that is regarding the status of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, bears direct relation to the “red cows.” These are literal cows they are referring to and yes, they have arrived in Israel. Let’s see what this means.

Destruction of the Temple of Jerusalem, by Francesco Hayez

The cows in question are red heifers and currently kept in a secret location possibly in the Israeli-occupied West Bank.

Their significance lies in the fact that they are key, in the belief of some Jews, to the rebuilding of the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem. This would be the much touted Third Temple, which is also tightly wound with some interpretations of Christian eschatology signaling the Messianic Age, or the return of Jesus Christ.

Here a quick history lesson going back almost a few millennia is requisite. To begin, the Temple in Jerusalem would be, for Jews, the most sacred place to worship. The first, Solomon’s Temple, was destroyed c.587 BC during the Babylonian siege of Jerusalem. The Second Temple was brought down by the Romans during the siege of Jerusalem of 70 AC.

The building of the Third Temple is a sacred mission for Jews as the prophets of the Old Testament called for its construction. Once completed, the full order of animal sacrifices can be made in the Temple, a requisite cleansing for the return of the Messiah.

In the Book of Numbers 19:2, it is written: “This is the ritual law that Hashem has commanded: Instruct B’nei Yisrael to bring you a red cow without blemish, in which there is no defect and on which no yoke has been laid.”

Rabbi Azariah Ariel is the head of the Temple Institute’s Red Heifer Project. He oversaw, a few years back, the transfer of five red cows from a ranch in Texas to Israel. It is a most exacting procedure, as Rabbi Ariel explained to Israel365 News:

“A red heifer is a female cow that is completely red, with no more than one non-red hair on its entire body. In the language of the Bible, red is not exclusively what we know today as red. It also includes brown and other similar shades of red. This excludes black. All of the hairs on its body must be the same color.”

In response to Hamas claims of Red Cows instigating the October 7 attack on Israel, Rabbi Ariel told Israel365 News: “First of all, the temple is a gift of peace to the world, a house of prayer for all nations. It is not a weapon of war or an excuse to go to war. They say they’re attacking us because we have the Red heifer.”

The Rabbi explained that this justification was a warning against the construction of the Third Temple and feels this reasoning will only be accepted by those who hate the Jews and the Bible.

“The truth is that Hamas does not need reasons to kill Jews,” Rabbi Ariel said. “And the only people who accept these excuses already want Hamas to murder Jews."

Be that as it may, the proposed site for the building of the Third Temple is currently occupied by the Al-Aqsa Mosque, one of the holiest sites in Islam. Its removal then, in order to build the Jewish Temple, would be contentious, literally on a Biblical level.

The mosque's construction, in parts, dates back to the 7th century. Even more significant is the fact that located at the center of the mosque resides the Dome of the Rock.

The Dome of the Rock is the world’s oldest piece of Islamic architecture, the earliest religious structure built by a Muslim ruler, and contains inscriptions by the Prophet Muhammad.

Today, heavily armed guards keep watch over the mosque, allowing only Muslims and certain Palestinians to enter the complex and view the Dome of the Rock.

Removal of the Dome of the Rock has been described by some as “opening a Pandora’s box that nobody can close.” As well, it could lead to an intensification of the war in Gaza, if not igniting a powder keg for the entire region.

Nonetheless, certain Jews and Christians are committed to rebuilding the Third Temple in Jerusalem. At a recent National Gathering for Prayer and Repentance in Washington, D.C., convened by U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson, the matter of the Red Heifers was discussed.

In attendance was Byron Stinson, a Texan who facilitated the transfer of the Red Cows to Israel. He told CBS News that, "We're going to accept the Messiah, and we need the Messiah to come. For me, the red heifer is red for the blood of Jesus Christ. That's why it's red."

The tie-in with Messianic Christians mostly revolve around their interpretation of the Book of Revelations. In the Book of Revelation 20:2-3, there is discussion about the 1000 year reign of Christ, after which Satan will be released from his prison for a short time to deceive the nations and do battle with the whole world.

This End Time prophecy requires the rebuilding of the temple on the Temple Mount of Jerusalem. This will signal the arrival of the Antichrist. The Antichrist will work all manner of wonders that will cause the masses to worship him.

This is the time period referenced as the Tribulation, wherein the Mark of the Beast will be presented to the world. All this is necessary, according to Christians, for the return of Jesus Christ.

Now, the ritual for the sacrifice of the Red Heifer is scheduled by Jewish Rabbis to occur in Israel on April 10, the day of Eid al-Fitr. By my calendar, that is exactly one week from today.

That strikes me as a particularly auspicious time in the heavens, and on earth. The solar eclipse will be taking place on April 8. And with it, numerous other major projects, not the least being CERN firing up its Large Hadron Collider.

We know that the Collider accelerates particles close to the speed of light, then smashes them together. But for what purpose? Researchers are using it to investigate the secrets of quantum mechanics.

However, rumors are spreading on Twitter that the Collider can open portals into other dimensions, allowing for entry of interdimensional beings into our universe.

Perhaps even, the Antichrist itself.

But that’s another story.
